Makhachkala, October 31, 2014. The Plug & Play Dagestan business incubator has started the 2nd Daghestani contest of youth IT-projects «DagITstan» organized in partnership with the republican ministry of youth affairs.
The contest aims at employing young professionals in the field of information technology, finding promising projects for communications providers, and forming a positive public opinion about Dagestan’s innovative potential.
Contestants compete in areas such as design (web, mobile, social, 3D), web-programming, applications (mobile, social), games (web, mobile, social), communications and telecommunications, socially minded solutions (web, mobile, social), information security, and network solutions.
Head of the business incubator Mikhail Blank said they had considered over a hundred applications. 99% of projects sent to them are scientific developments done at Daghestan universities. So, they need to reach target customers and ask them for a feedback in order to further promote the universities and projects. He also asked the applicants to think further than Daghestan – as far as Russia at least.
Soon, the contestants presented their projects to the expert jury. Among them were a web-portal for farmers, a «House comfort» project, social and travel app for phones and tablets named "Our Caucasus", and other projects. The jury will announce the results later in the day.
