Makhachkala, March 11, 2014. Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov presented FC "Anzhi" ex-player Samuel Eto'O with Daghestan highest award - the Order "For Service to Daghestan" - during the halftime break in "Anzhi"’s Sunday game in Makhachkala, March 9, on "Anji Arena " in Kaspiysk. Ramazan Abdulatipov, club’s owner Suleyman Kerimov and Samuel Eto'O were rooting for "Anzhi" at the stadium.

"Anzhi" has already gone down in history and Samuel Eto'O is the reason. Playing for "Chelsea" now, he said he was the first Daghestani ever to score a hat-trick in the English Premier League after they defeated "Manchester United". He can really be called Daghestani. He is Daghestani at heart. Samuel Eto'O is not only an outstanding football player, but also a personality; his fine play boosted rapid football development in Daghestan. During his stay in “Anzhi”, Eto'O became the fans’ favorite, the whole stadium had chanted his name, and he had repeatedly scored goals and delivered passes to colour the game and squeak out a victory. Despite the negative news flow around Daghestan, he had always spoken warmly of it. We do need propaganda like that,"- Daghestani Leader said.

In conclusion, he said that he believed in "Anzhi"’s future, and he urged the fans to keep loyal to the team:

"Dear friends, thank you for supporting "Anzhi" despite the setback. Suleiman Kerimov isn’t going to dump the club, either.  Coach Gadji Gadjiyev and he are doing their best for the club’s stability. We believe in "Anzhi" and will fully support the club!"

Samuel Eto'O moved to "Anzhi" in August 2011, he appeared in 72 games to score 36 goals for the club. Interestingly, in the last game against "Tottenham", London "Chelsea"’s forward Samuel Eto'O scored the 300th goal in his career.

After the first victory in the championship, "Anzhi" gains 11 points remaining in last place of the Russian standings, which is 4 points less than the nearest rival. The Makhachkala club is having their next game against "Spartak" in Moscow, on March 17.
