Makhachkala, August 14, 2014. Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov met with the Russian minister for North Caucasus affairs Lev Kuznetsov who is visiting Daghestan, the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration informs.
R. Abdulatipov said he hoped to develop fruitful contacts with the federal agency. Touching upon the cultural and economic relations with the neighboring lands, he reminded that they needed to implement Daghestan’s joint projects with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Chechnya and Stavropol region.
"Another issue we are interested in is developing our culture. We have worked out a project of creating centers of traditional culture. To date, we’ve opened over 30 centers like that in Daghestan municipalities. It may serve as a model project,"- R. Abdulatipov noted.
In response, Lev Kuznetsov noted that for his ministry, Daghestan is a key and backbone region. The ministry itself was established because each region had lived within its own ideology. He assured that the ministry will listen to common people, rely on businesses’ opinion, and be prepared for criticism.
"Today, with regard to the sanctions, the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has instructed to develop agriculture, and we shall take advantage of our potential. In our work, we’ll rely on your initiative. Together, we must choose priorities to enhance stability and implement presidential decrees, and most importantly – to help establish foundation to our economy and culture. Only a cultured society can progress," – L. Kuznetsov assured.
The minister said the major short-term challenge was to collaborate in preparing Daghestan development program that will later serve as the basis for further sub-programs for developing the social sector, agriculture and industry in the region. "Organizational and financial resources should be allocated by priority. But, we’ll involve both businesses and public resources. Only involving people we trust, we’ll be able to have order," - Kuznetsov said.
