Dagestan is home to more than forty ethnic groups. Despite this diversity, there is one thing that unites all the women of Dagestan: their traditional headdresses. Dagestani women's headdresses are composite: they include jewelry, home-woven scarves, shawls and headbands. Each nationality has its own shape, fabric and even patches. The main types of jewelry and traditions of wearing them were formed in ancient times and are still relevant today.

It is more usual for the residents of Ugra to see the jewelry and clothes of the Khanty and Mansi peoples in museums. That is why the exhibition has become a unique performance.

At the All-Russian conference, the report of Dagestani delegation on the traditions of wearing headgear interested the representatives of the Yugra so much that they proposed to show the exposition in Khanty-Mansiysk. The exhibition is held at the Museum of Nature and Man in Khanty-Mansiysk until 30 May.
