The "Exhibition of one Picture" by Eduard Puterbrot, a famous Dagestani painter and stage designer, has opened in the "Master" publishing house. The work is presented to the public for the first time - the portrait is a fragment of the stage set of the play "Kill me, Dove" by Aziz Nesin, performed in the Lak Theatre in the early 1990s.

For many years the work was in the private collection of Ibragimkhalil Supyanov, Eduard Puterbrot’s friend and colleague. Now it has been given to Lilia Jamalutdinova, the director of Dagestan Theatre Museum, whose collection will include the canvas in the future.

Eduard Puterbrot was a painter, graphic artist and scenographer who had a significant influence on the art of Dagestan in the 1970-80s. He taught at Dagestan Art School and designed plays for the republican theatres. He died tragically in 1993.

The exhibition runs till April 26.
