A professional children's theatre studio based on the Maxim Gorky Russian Drama Theatre, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has opened in Makhachkala. It was set up as part of the national "Culture" project.

The studio is designed to showcase the talents of creative youth during chamber and solo performances. It is equipped with professional sound and lighting technology. The stage has 34 seats. The facility is still in technical mode and classes will start in September 2024. Children up to the age of 17 will be trained in stage language, movement and acting. It should be noted that this is the first regional professional studio to be opened in a state theatre.

The focus of the National Project "Culture" is to increase the availability of cultural benefits and opportunities to participate in the creation of cultural values throughout the country. The national projects will be implemented from 2019 according to the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
