As to the regional Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (Dagnasledie), archaeological research is currently being conducted on the territory of the federal-level cultural heritage site "Fortress" in the village of Akhty. The work is carried out by Ethnos Research Institute LLC and specialists of the Republican Center for the Protection of Historical, Cultural, and Architectural Monuments, as well as Nasledi LLC.

The archaeological research is an essential part of the overall process of creating scientific and design documents for the restoration of this monument. According to the press release, this is the first time such extensive and comprehensive research is conducted on this site, with the initiative coming from the Akhty Fortress Charity Foundation.

In February 2023, Dagnasledie commissioned the Charitable Foundation "Akhtyn Fortress" to undertake works on the preservation of a federal-level cultural heritage site, the "Fortress", which dates back to the 19th century.
