Makhachkala, April 28, 2014. The measurable "Mountain Range" photo project is to be implemented in Daghestan. Famous Russian traveler and photographer Anton Lange is the manager to the project dedicated to the North Caucasus. His main goal is to show the diversity of the Caucasus, reveal the beauty of its landscapes, and show the lifestyle of the people to the public of the large country.
The project is being implemented on the initiative of the "North Caucasus Resorts" state corporation. It starts next month to be completed a year later.
Today, Anton Lange, who is in Daghestan on an exploratory mission, gave a press conference at Daghestan tourism committee in Makhachkala.
"I have never been to Daghestan, but I have always wanted to visit Derbent. Daghestan is a world in itself, a huge republic, a Caucasus leader in diversity of culture, nature and peoples of the region. For me, a visit to Daghestan is mainly a professional’s dream come true,"- said the photographer.
According to Anton Lange, the Caucasus is a grand mountain region, one of the kind in Russia; nothing compares to its natural, ethnic and cultural diversity.
"We're starting an exceptional project, the first ambitious project in modern Russia focused on a through journey along the Main Caucasian Ridge – its Russian part. This region is very interesting. It is possibly the densest in the country in eventfulness per unit area including visual events. It is the Caucasus’ uniqueness that for me was the starting point in deciding for participating in the project.
The photo project aims at revealing the unique natural, cultural, historical, and ethnic potential of the South Russia regions united in a project of the North Caucasian tourist cluster. This is going to be a discoverer’s unique narration about the land where the author has never been. If all our project plans be realized, we’ll get an artistic canvas displaying this whole diversity for the first time in the history of the Russian North Caucasus. So, I expect the unique results," - he added.
