In 2024 Dagestan farmers plan to increase egg production by 40%, the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food reports. For now, the annual volume of egg production in the region is about 250 million pcs.

"In 2024, we plan to increase this value by 100 million pieces, due to the development and expansion of existing enterprises" the Ministry official says. According to the ministry, the region meets its needs in eggs only by 30%. The total demand is just over 800 million eggs.

The missing volume of eggs is imported to the republic from a number of regions of the country - Sverdlovsk and Volgograd, as well as the Stavropol Territory.
