Step 2 of annual cynology championship held in Daghestan border guard

Magaramkentskiy district, October 13, 2014. Top Russian dog handlers with the Border Guard of the FSB’s Daghestan office rallied in Magaramkent region to have the second step of the annual cynology championship on 6-10 October, the press service of the Border Guard told RIA "Dagestan".

Service dogs of different categories are indispensable in protecting the state border. They are investigative, patrol, mine detection, special search dogs, and drug, explosives, and weapons detector dogs.

During the competition, contestants had to fulfill guideline training standards, run the overobstacle course, demonstrate skills in detaining, escorting and protecting offenders, and search for drugs, explosives, weapons and ammunition in various environments.

The participating dog handlers and their four-legged partners were highly evaluated by the guard seniors.
