DSTU actively develops cooperation with an American company

Makhachkala, July 5, 2020. In June, the educational research center of Dagestan State Technical University “Modern Electronic Elements and Technologies” held series of webinars entitled “Electronic components of Analog Devices Inc.” and their application in the industry.

The online seminars were conducted by specialists of TESON LLC, an official distributor of Analog Devices Inc. in Russia for the teachers, graduate students and the students specializing in microelectronics and digital technologies within the framework of the Support Program for Technical Universities.

The leading engineers of the company Kirill Koval, Alexander Bukvin, Maxim Tokar spoke about the element base and its application in the areas of industrial automation, navigation equipment, radar equipment, security systems, on-board automotive equipment, smart home and smart manufacturing systems, medical electronics, telecommunications systems and basic stations, etc.

Analog Devices, Inc. is a large American company, a manufacturer of integrated circuits for solving the problems of signal conversion, including analog-to-digital converters and digital signal processors. In 2004 within the framework of cooperation with DSTU, the company granted the university the status of a participant in the Program of Support for Technical Universities. Since then, the company has been supplying DSTU research center with manufactured equipment, including samples of the latest components, functional units of computer equipment, specialized software, technical documentation and educational literature.

The director of the center, Candidate of Technical Sciences, associate professor Alexander Guba noted that the educational research center “Modern Electronic Elements and Technologies” has six laboratories, including those to develop digital signal processors, analog and digital microcontrollers. A laboratory of programmable logic circuits equipped with XILINX products (USA) cooperate in the field of automation of circuit design of electronic devices.

There are 42 workplaces in the laboratories of the research center, each equipped with the necessary computer devices and modern measuring equipment, including of its own production. All jobs are adapted to the educational process of the university. To achieve this goal, the staff of the research center developed and manufactured 55 laboratory stands using digital signal processors and microcontrollers from different manufacturers, as well as 11 technological control facilities.
Noteworthy, DSTU programs were also supported by such companies as Renesas (Japan), Altera (USA), Freescale Semiconductor (USA) and Atmel (USA).
