“Diverse Dagestan. Culture, history and modern times” exhibition kicks off in Moscow

Makhachkala, June 8, 2018. The exhibition “Diverse Dagestan. Culture, history and modern times” has opened June 6-7 in Moscow House of Nationalities within the framework of the project "Annual Interregional Festival of National Cultures "Multicolor of Russia", the trade mission of the Republic of Dagestan in the Central Federal District reports.

An exhibition of Dagestan arts and crafts was presented within the framework of the event. The exhibition visitors appreciated the unique products of Untsukul craftsmen, Kubachi jewelers, painted vessels of Balkhar craftsmen, Tabasaran carpet weavers and the other items of folk art crafts.

A round table with participation of the leading scientists, government and public figures of Dagestan was held. The director of the Trade Mission of the Republic of Dagestan in the Central Federal District Magomed Saigidov noted that in addition to the big cultural diversity, Dagestan is an example of good-neighborliness and mutual understanding among the representatives of different nationalities.

The Director of Moscow House of Nationalities Vladimir Tarasov thanked the Trade Mission in the Central Federal District for the preparation and organization of the Festival and voiced the gratitude to its director Magomed Saigidov and the staff of the mission.

At the end of the program, the craftsmen conducted master classes on engraving, pottery were held and a gala concert with the participation of folk ensemble "Dagbash", the famous Dagestani singer Larisa Gajiyeva, the violin virtuoso and vocalist Mario Ali Durand Sutuyev, the folk dance ensemble "Rassvet" and the veterans of the deserved ensemble "Lezginka".
