Makhachkala, February 17, 2014. The State Academic Dance Ensemble "Lezghinka" enchants the guests of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the press service of Daghestani ministry of culture reports.
The presentation of cultural, historical and tourism potential of Daghestan was demonstrated on the unified panel of the North Caucasian Federal District on February 16.
The People's Artist of Russia Gamzat Gazimagomedov pointed out the importance of organizing different panels of Russian regions during the Winter Olympic Games, which allowed each region of the Russian Federation to get demonstrate the participants and guests of the Olympic Games with the natural wealth, history, culture of Caucasus and to introduce the investment potential in the tourism sector, using the latest innovative technologies.
The presentation of the Republic of Daghestan was opened by the dance ensemble " Lezghinka " including national ethnic dances such as "Antsukh", Avar girls’ dance and drumming , which got a whirlwind of applause. Visitors got an opportunity to dance with the performers.
The presentation ended with the ceremony of tasting of Daghestani wine and national dishes, which received positive feedback from part of visitors.
On the same evening, Daghestani ensemble gave a concert at the Sochi waterfront.
