Makhachkala, March 26, 2018. The chefs from more than 20 countries will take part in the first international gastronomic festival "Vizit Dagestan 2018", started Saturday, March 24 in Makhachkala, the member of the festival organizing committee Makhach Vagabov said.

"The festival “Vizit Dagestan 2018" is held for the first time. The event is called to promote the tourist potential of the republic on the all-Russian and international tourist market, to develop and promote gastronomic tourism and ethno-gastronomic tourism in the region as wells as to demonstrate the creative potential of professionals and amateurs in the field of cooking from about 20 countries, including Georgia, Serbia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. In total the contesters compete in four nominations related to the restaurant service and cooking" - the source said.

The festival envisages holding culinary championship, master classes by the  leading international judges and experts in the field of cooking, the master classes of traditional cooking of the peoples of Dagestan, as well as business lunches.
"Serving the dishes no later than 45 minutes after the start. A fine of up to 5% of the total amount of points for a violation of the time limits. All participants give a short 1-minute presentation of a dish before the jury"- the organizers specified the criteria of one of the competitions.
