Makhachkala, April 22, 2017. The Iranian company "Amal" expressed readiness to build a new rice processing plant in Dagestan. The intentions for the further implementation of the potential investment project have been discussed at the speciual meeting of representatives of the company and the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Dagestan.
Noteworthy, the foreign trade turnover between Dagestan and the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past year amounted to more than 36.5 million US dollars, including exports - 8.24 million US dollars, imports - 28.3 million US dollars.

The representatives of Iran noted that they had already started to process rice in their country using the latest technologies and equipment. The investor’s idea is to distribute the processed rice to other regions of Russia and to export to Iran.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to assist and advise the investor from part of the republican government. "Earlier, six agreements have been signed between the regions to expand and strengthen Dagestan-Iranian trade and economic ties. We are open for fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation," the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Dagestan Yusup Umavov said.
