Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan inspects leading wine regions of Dagestan

Makhachkala, August 26, 2015. The viticulture is one of the priority sectors of agriculture in Dagestan. In recent years, the republic was working hard to develop this sector, including – by expanding the area of vineyards. The "Effective agriculture" target priority program of the republic pays gives a special attention to the industry.

On the eve, on August 25, the deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov accompanied by the deputy Minister of Agriculture RD Gaidar Shuaibov paid an inspective visit to several largest wine-growing regions of the republic – Derbentsky and Kayakentsky districts.

In Kayakentsky District the deputy Prime Minister, together with the head of the municipality Magomedemin Gajiyev took part in a sitting with the residents of the village of Novo-Vickrey, where Sharipov spoke about the work carried out in Dagestan for the development of agriculture, rural areas in general and answered the questions of concern from part of villagers.

The deputy Prime Minister and the accompanying him officials also visited the grapes storage facalities of Kizlyar cognac factory, established on the basis of Kayakent winery.

In a cozy and home-like atmosphere, the officials and local residents discussed a wide range of issues. In particular: the decisions taken by the Council's on the development of agro-industrial complex under the Head of Dagestan, the adaptation of the priority program of the republic "Effective agriculture" to rural areas, the issues of land reform, the establishment of households recording, adapting the work of farms to the market conditions, the culture of agriculture, land renting issues and the reorganization of numerous municipal unitary enterprises.

Besides, the sitting participants touched upon the development of viticulture, the harvest yielding progress, pricing issues, the establishment of new vineyards and the most importantly – the issues of import substitution.

Speaking about the vineyards development prospects Gaidar Shuaibov noted that in 2015 the state budget allocated twice as much funding than the previous year for these purposes is. Thus, the federal budget gives approximately 180 thousand rubles for planting each hectare of vineyards; the other 25 thousand rubles are allocated from the republican budget.
