Daghestan agricultural production adds 3.4% in first half of 2014

Makhachkala, July 21, 2014. By July 2014, the overall agricultural production in Daghestan has amounted to RUB 14,667.9 million, which is 3.4% more than in the same period of 2013, reports Daghestan office of the Federal Service of State Statistics.

In cattle breeding, meat production (live weight) increased by 6.1% - up to 57,800 tons, milk production added 2.8% - up to 386,200 tons, egg production remained the same - 93.7 million eggs. As of July 1, 2014, cow livestock has increased by 3.7% - up to 1,034,400 heads, sheep and goats added 0.8% - up to 5,864,200 heads.

The total planted acreage in 2014 increased by 5.5%; grain crops and leguminous plants acreage rose by 8.8%, vegetables acreage added 2.3%, forage acreage increased by 5.1%, and potato acreage rose by 0.9%.
