Dagestan has been named Russia's most popular destination for unique tourist routes. Almost half of all authors’ tours in Russia (49.2%) came to the Republic of Dagestan in 2022, RIA Novosti reports citing the press service of Youtravel.me portal. The region has become the leader, ahead of such popular destinations as Karelia and Kamchatka.

"The driver for the growth of the segment is low cost of tours compared with the traditional tourism destinations" - the co-founder of Youtravel.me Olga Bortnikova said. Author tours are trips arranged not by major tour operators, but by experienced tourists.
The prices for most routes in Dagestan are almost unchanged. The cost of a holiday in the republic is in the range from 3 to 10 thousand rubles per day. As to statistic data, the demand for travel to Dagestan among Russian tourists increased by 20-30% in 2022.
