The II Forum of Guesthouse Owners "Hospitality Business" has taken place in the Eagle's Nest Tourist Resort located in the village of Gunib and gathered 4 times more participants than last year. The event was attended by the head of Gunib district administration Rasul Guseynov, the director of the Caspian Academy, the co-owner of Caspian travel Magomed Abakarov, the president of the TR&O Association, the director of the Etnotravel tour operator Saadula Omarov and others.

Opening event, M.Abakarov noted that in 2024 the Forum is titled 'Organization and Management of Guest Houses' and focuses on the issues related to the enactment of law legalizing guesthouses. R.Guseynov, for his part, pointed out the importance of participation of local authorities in the development of tourism. As to Guseynov, the draft law adopted in the first reading will standardize the work of guesthouses and improve the quality of services.

"The legalization of guesthouses will enable state support and development of tourist facilities, most of which are family businesses. As a reminder, the State Duma adopted a bill on the experiment of providing hotel services in guesthouses fr om April 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026. According to the document, guesthouses must be included in a single list of classified hotels" - Guseynov said.

In his speech, S.Omarov invited guesthouse owners to join the TR&O Association, stressing that it was created to support legal entities, share experience and cooperate with other organizations. Afterwards, the guesthouse owners and managers took part in a mastermind forum wh ere they discussed key aspects and challenges of work in the hospitality sphere.
