Dagestan authorities announce construction of two reservoirs

Makhachkala December 8, 2017. Two reservoirs in Southern Dagestan will be built by 2021 under the federal target program. The reservoirs will provide water to residents of three municipal districts, Abdusamad Gamidov, the prime minister of Dagestan says. According to Gamidov, the construction of these facilities will provide water to the residents of Levashinsky, Sergokalinsky and Kayakentsky districts and "will give impetus to the development of the agro-industrial complex."

The head of the Federal Water Resources Agency Vadim Nikanorov told that the documentation for the reservoir in Levashinsky district was prepared. The project will be launched in the nearest future, the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan informs.

The volume of the reservoir in Levashinsky district, according to the project, makes 850 thousand cubic meters. It will provide water to more than 157 thousand residents of Levashinsky, Sergokalinsky and Kayakentsky districts. The construction will be conducted in 2018-2020, the total cost of the project makes 1.3 billion rubles.

“The second reservoir will be built on the Shur-Dere girder in Suleiman-Stalsky district. We will do our best to complete the construction of this significant facility. I am glad that we managed to allocate grants for major projects last year. I the contractors will meet the schedule"- Nikanorov said.
