35,000 people visit Daghestan exposition at 9th "ITM - 2014"International tourism exhibition

Makhachkala, March 24, 2014. About 35,000 people visited Daghestan exposition at the 9th "ITM - 2014" international tourism exhibition taking place in Moscow, 15-18 March, Daghestan Tourism Committee told RIA "Daghestan".

The last day’s critical business event was the training workshop "IT and innovative marketing tools in modern tourism" organized by the WTO (World Tourism Organization) and the Russia’s Federal Tourism Agency. The workshop was attended by the chairman of Daghestan Tourism Committee Magomed Issayev, his deputy Vitaly Demchenko and his advisor Natalia Belamerzaeva.

According to the source, the training workshop had 2 sessions. "The first session gave a review of the IT development trends in tourism. They spoke about the role of modern technology in promoting the tourism product, about foreign experience in IT development in tourism, about how online business cards and travel portals work, how to prepare interactive presentations, and why mobile applications are really critical. They also discussed monetization in tourism.

The second session was devoted to practices of promoting tourist brands using innovative marketing tools. They discussed the foreign experience of using innovative marketing tools in promoting tourism, the potential of social networks, television and Internet, and the significance of a successful region’s tourism brand. After the workshop, all participants received personal certificates."
