Daghestan to develop beef cattle industry

Makhachkala, March 24, 2014. Daghestan authorities intend to develop beef cattle industry, the spokesperson of the republican ministry of agriculture and food said. The relevant target program designed for 2013-2015 has already been prepared.

"Analysis of current state of the beef cattle industry in Daghestan shows that there is an urgent need to develop meat industry and one’s own pedigree cattle. The government support will encourage the production of high-quality beef farms of all categories and increase the economic motivation among the agricultural producers in fattening cattle and beef production. In case of success, the republic will be able to fully satisfy the demand for beef" - the spokesperson noted.

The total funding under the program makes RUR 3 billion 158 million.

This year, RUR 7.6 million will be allocated from the state budget of Daghestan and 150 million rubles from the federal budget within the framework of program implementation.
