MAKHACHKALA, March 25 – RIA Dagestan. The Public Chamber of Dagestan has announced the commencement of procedures to update its membership composition. According to a statement from the Chamber, this process represents a stage in renewing mechanisms for public participation, with stated objectives of supporting openness, transparency and effectiveness in decision-making, as well as facilitating dialogue between civil society and government institutions.
The selection process will prioritize candidates' professional credentials, relevant experience in public or civic engagement, and demonstrated reputational standing.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate an established business reputation, verifiable experience in public or civic engagement, an ability to provide independent expert assessments and a commitment to accountability for their positions and decisions. Submission pathways differ by organization type: within 30 days of the announcement, federal and interregional NGOs may direct proposals to the Head of Dagestan; regional NGOs and public associations may apply to the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan; and local public associations may submit documentation to the Public Chamber's apparatus.
The deadline for document submission is indicated as April 21, 2026. Application forms and templates for required documentation are reportedly available through a designated link provided by the Chamber. The selection process and subsequent formation of the new Chamber composition will be conducted in accordance with established regulatory procedures.
