MAKHACHKALA, March 6 – RIA "Dagestan". The regional stage of the "Professionals-2026" championship for students of secondary vocational education institutions in Dagestan has finished with a closing ceremony at the House of Friendship in Makhachkala. The event brought together participants, educators, employers and government officials to celebrate the achievements of nearly 13,000 students who competed across 62 professional competencies—including high-precision engineering, digital product development, engineering design and multimedia applications. Their work was assessed by 526 experts, 80 of whom represented industrial enterprises.
Addressing the ceremony, Dagestan's Minister of Education and Science Yakhya Buchaev highlighted significant modernization of the secondary vocational education system in recent years, including the curricula update and the creation of 52 high-tech workshops with support from the Russian Ministry of Education. Special gratitude was expressed to teachers and industrial training masters for their contribution to training qualified specialists. Winners of the regional stage received honorary awards and gained the right to represent Dagestan at the federal championship.
