Makhachkala Hosts Seminar on Evidence-Based Healthy Aging

MAKHACHKALA, August 3 – RIA "Dagestan". Makhachkala hosted the republican scientific and practical seminar "Medicine of Longevity. Longevity: A Fashionable Trend or Evidence-Based Science?", organized by the public movement "Healthy Caucasus."

Leading regional specialists clarified misconceptions in commercial anti-aging products and presented scientifically grounded strategies for active longevity within the fields of endocrinology, geriatrics, neurology and diagnostic imaging.

The presentation of the "Longevity Passport" pilot project served as the main event, offering a method to assess biological age via quantitative biomarkers including MRI brain age and coronary calcium.

Experts indicated that Dagestan had sufficient equipment and qualified personnel to execute advanced preventive practices, including peptide bioregulation and cognitive preservation. As to surgeon Magomed Khamidov, prioritizing preventive rather than reactive medicine allows for addressing age-related conditions prior to the need for surgical intervention.
