MAKHACHKALA, March 23 – RIA Dagestan. According to the "Chestny Znak" (Honest Sign) product labeling system, legal sales of botulinum toxin preparations in Dagestan more than doubled in 2025, reaching 8,800 packages.
The total consumption of injectable cosmetic services (including botulinum toxins, fillers and biorevitalizers) in the Southern Federal District reached RUB 7.6 billion in 2025. However, experts note that the "shadow market" accounts for 50–55% of the market in the Southern Federal District—significantly higher than the national average of 40%—with services often provided in beauty salons and private homes, using unregistered or counterfeit products.
At least seven unregistered botulinum toxin preparations were in circulation in 2025, with combined sales exceeding RUB 2 billion and online marketplaces have become an additional distribution channel for such products.
