MAKHACHKALA, April 27 – RIA "Dagestan." The nationwide digital campaign Immortal Regiment-2026 has started accepting participation requests. This virtual commemoration honors the heroes of the Great Patriotic War on Victory Day, May 9, by connecting generations and preserving the collective memory of those responsible for the triumph.
Submissions are accepted until May 6 via the website 2026.polkrf.ru and through mini-applications on the social media platforms VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and MAX.
Participants may upload photographs and biographical details of Great Patriotic War veterans, home-front workers or any individuals who contributed to the defense of the homeland. A built-in photo enhancement feature is available for improving image quality or adding color. Contributors are also encouraged to share narratives about their heroes on social networks.
The online procession will commence at 12:00 p.m. local time on May 9 at https://2026.polkrf.ru/ and will be displayed on screens nationwide. The digital march will initiate in the Chukotka and Far East regions, proceeding successively westward through Siberia, the Ural region, Central Russia, and culminating at the western border in Kaliningrad Oblast.
As to Sabina Kurbanova, head of Dagestan branch of the Immortal Regiment public movement, even if families lack photographs of their veterans, they can still submit available data such as names and life spans.
The organizers prioritize the integrity of submitted information through a rigorous multi-stage moderation process involving historians to prevent historical falsification, fabrication of profiles, or posting of inappropriate content.
