DSMU Student Wins Bronze at International "Followers of Avicenna" Olympiad

MAKHACHKALA, April 15 – RIA Dagestan. A student of Dagestan State Medical University has won a bronze medal at the international Olympiad "Followers of Avicenna" held at Tashkent State Medical University in Uzbekistan. The competition brought together aspiring physicians from multiple countries.

Atena Fetri, a second-year student at DSMU's Medical Faculty originally from Iran, participated in the "Normal Physiology" section conducted in English. Her preparation was supervised by the scientific leaders of the Student Scientific Club "Physioland": Razin Ragimov, Head of the Department of Normal Physiology and Naida Abdullaeva, Associate Professor of the same department.

The Olympiad was conducted in English, Turkish and Russian. Participants completed three challenging stages: online testing, a blitz quiz, and solving complex clinical case problems. Fetri scored 57 points, securing third place and earning a bronze medal diploma.

University representatives noted that experts highly praised the student's profound theoretical knowledge in physiology, her ability to apply academic knowledge to clinical scenarios, her high level of professional training and her command of medical terminology in English.
