MAKHACHKALA, May 22 – RIA Dagestan. The IX All-Russian Olympiad with international participation in first aid, titled "Save and Protect" was held at Dagestan State Medical University, bringing together 18 teams from medical and technical institutions across Russia and Uzbekistan.
The competition featured two stages: a practical problem-solving session under time constraints and an interactive field exercise testing medical skills, teamwork and decision-making under stress. The opening ceremony included a master class on providing assistance during drone attacks and evacuating victims from damaged buildings, alongside demonstrations by EMERCOM specialists on rescue operations during emergencies.
Based on the results among higher education institutions, first place was awarded to the DSMU team, while second place was shared by Andijan State Medical Institute (Uzbekistan) and Belgorod State National Research University, with third place going to Bashkir State Medical University and North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
Among medical colleges, DSMU's team won first place, followed by a team from Khasavyurt in second and the College of Digital Technologies and Information Security of Dagestan State University of National Economy in third. The Olympiad was held with support from the Public Health Ministry of Russia, the EMERCOM Main Directorate across the Republic and Dagestan Center for Disaster Medicine, with the jury highly assessing the preparation level of all participating teams.
