MAKHACHKALA, March 16 – RIA Dagestan. Dagestan has been included in a ranking of recommended destinations for off-road vehicle trips in March, compiled by the "Avito Travel" and "Avito Auto" Services. The region was noted for its early spring conditions and relatively affordable accommodation options.
According to the compilers, early spring represents a favorable period for domestic travel, with tourist traffic remaining below peak season levels while daylight hours have increased. For visits to natural attractions requiring off-road access, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) were indicated as the most suitable option for navigating unpaved roads and uneven terrain.
Recommended destinations in Dagestan include the Sulak Canyon, the Sarykum sand dune and the Chirkey Reservoir. Reported average daily accommodation costs in the republic are approximately RUB 2,800 for an apartment and RUB 6,500 for a countryside house.
The ranking also features Kabardino-Balkaria, with routes to the Bermyamt Plateau; Crimea, including locations in Sevastopol area; as well as Murmansk Oblast and Karelia, which were noted for snow-covered routes and northern landscapes.
