Rice yields in Dagestan have more than doubled over the past 10 years. The region is now the second largest producer of rice in the country (Krasnodar Krai is the first). The total area of rice fields in the region is more than 32 thousand hectares.

As to the head of the local agriculture ministry, Mukhtarbiy Adzhekov, such a positive dynamic was due to adherence to agro-technologies and the introduction of innovations. "This year we faced the problem of multiple increases in payments for irrigation water, but now we are negotiating with the relevant authorities and the situation will be resolved" – the top official says.

The company "Kizlyaragrocomplex" also made a significant contribution to the yield, harvesting about 10 thousand tons of rice from 1.72 thousand hectares last year, the company's director general Magomed Tukuyev reports.

Rosselkhozbank also supported the farm with RUB 40 million loan for the purchase of processing equipment.
