The Chinese holding company Famsun Group plans to build a new grain terminal at the Makhachkala Commercial Seaport. The new terminal is expected to have a capacity of 1.5 million tons per year, with a maximum storage capacity of up to 100,000 tons. Currently, the capacity of the port is 500,000 tons per year. The estimated cost of the project is 1 billion rubles. Apart from the grain terminal, the port also includes dry cargo and oil product handling facilities, as well as railway and ferry terminals.
