Iranian businessmen intend to invest in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 19, 2016. On Monday, October 17, the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan Abdusamad Gamidov met with the delegation of Ardabil province of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Greeting the guests on Dagestani land, the Prime Minister briefed on the economic, investment and cultural potential of Dagestan.

"Your visit is perceived by us as an important step towards the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening of friendship relations between our peoples. Dagestan and Iran have long-standing friendship, historical and cultural contacts; in difficult times, our countries have always been close. Today, Russian-Iranian bilateral relations are at high level, and it is encouraging that against this background there is an active work on establishing business contacts between Ardabil province and the Republic of Dagestan ", - Abdusamad Gamidov said.

Gamidov pointed out that the region had all the necessary conditions for the development of this partnership. So, currently, the republican government study issues of cooperation of Iranian ports with the single ice-free commercial port in the Caspian Sea in Makhachkala. The benefits of cooperation may arise from the project of building a "green corridor" for the delivery of Iranian products to the Russian market, as well as creation of a container line Asia-Europe handling of Southeast and South Asia to Europe.

In turn, the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Ardabil province Vossugh-Irani Hoseyn said that in difficult moments for Iran, Russia had always provided assistance in a friendly way, "We thank you for the fact that Russia has always been with us. And we are also close to Russia. Over the past three years, our leaders have met 9 times: it shows high relations between our countries. "

Mr. Vossugh-Irani Hoseyn expressed readiness to establish partnership contacts of Ardebil Province with the cities of Derbent and Izberbash in order to implement joint projects. In addition, the distinguished guest announced his intention to cooperate with the Makhachkala Commercial Seaport. "We are ready to get acquainted with the investment potential of Dagestan", - he concluded.
For his part, the Head of Agricultural Jihad Organization of Ardabil province of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sarv Adele said: "This year the level of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has significantly increased. We are ready to move from talks to action. In this respect, two of the delegates-investors, who arrived in the region are willing to invest in the development of Dagestan. We have significant potential and opportunities for the production of agricultural products, seeds. Ardabil Province produces 80% of the seeds on Iran as a whole grows wheat and wheat products prepares, produces poultry. We are ready to cooperate in these areas. "

Mr. Adel Sarva invited Dagestani Prime minister to make a return visit to Iran in order to give further impetus to the intentions of the parties. During the meeting, various directions for partnerships and investment in both regions in the fields of poultry, seed, energy and the food industry were discussed.

Summing up, Abdusamad Gamidov thanked the Iranian guests for their visit and the elaboration of investment proposals aimed at expansion of comprehensive ties between Dagestan and the province of Ardabil.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy Prime Minister RD Ramazan Jafarov, the Minister of Agriculture RD Musafendi Velimuradov,  the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Makhachkala Amirhan Magomeddadaev, the representative at the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Islamic Republic of Iran Emin Aliyev and some others.
