Hempstead, USA, November 11, 2014. Daghestani free-style wrestlers Murshid Mutalimov and Ramazan Shamsudinov as part of the Russian team won the gold medal of the international tournament finished yesterday in the American city of Hempstead, says wrestdag.ru.
Mutalimov won the 61 kgweight and Shamsudinov placed first in the 70 kg weight. Another Dagestani Shikhsaid Djalilov finished third in the 65 kg weight.
In addition to the Dagestani wrestlers, 2 more Russian athletes, Vladimir Flegontov (61 kg, Yakutia) and Pavel Krivtsov (125 kg, Moscow region) also brought medals to the national team. Only Murad Nukhkadiev (65 kg, Krasnoyarsk) escaped the podium.
Wrestdag.ru reports that after the tournament, the wrestlers visited professional Dagestani boxer Magomed Abdussalamov who is still going through a home rehabilitation after a severe stroke that hit him after a fight in New York on November 2, 2013.
