Dagestan athletes to perform at World Martial Arts Championship in Italy

Makhachkala, October 24, 2016. Dagestani sportsmen, as part of the Russian national team will perform at the World martial arts championships, taken place in Tuscany, Italy on October 25 - 31, the head of the regional branch of the Russian combat system of self-defense federation Magomed Shirvanov says.

"These prestigious international competitions are held for the fourth year in a row and Dagestani sportsmen always have participated in it. Besides, they often become the winners. This year, 9 Dagestani athletes have gone to Italy and they will perform in the martial arts such as grappling, karate, kickboxing (K-1), MMA, "- Shirvanov noted.

Recall that about 5000 athletes from more than 100 countries sent applications to participate in the joint World Martial Arts Championship in Italy.
