In 2023 the unemployment rate reduced by 21% in Dagestan, the republican Ministry of Labour and Social Development reports. In total, according to the Ministry's specification, 23 thousand people were employed in 2023.

"At the beginning of 2024, 12,800 people are officially unemployed in the region," the ministry official says, adding that this is a historically low figure.

The number of the unemployed, according to Dagestan labour ministry, has been reduced by holding job fairs. In general, at the beginning of 2024, the unemployment rate in Dagestan fell to 0.9 per cent of the total working-age population.
