Makhachkala, August 10, 2015. The journalists of state newspapers and TV stations arrived in Dagestan town of Derbent to take part in subbotnik (day of volunteer work) and assist the municipal services to clear garbage on the seashore.
The subbotnik has been organized in preparation for the celebration of the 2000th anniversary of Derbent. The initiator is the Minister of Press and Information RD Aznaur Adzhiev.
"The event has been organized primarily to attract the attention of state and non-state media to the upcoming anniversary of the city. In the state media, in particular, there are tabs and sections dedicated to this event. Another objective of the present day event is to send a signal to the residents of Derbent and all the Dagestanis calling them to keep clean villages, cities and the republic"- Adzhiev said.
"Each of us must ensure cleanliness and order in the city and the country. I call for carrying out similar voluntary work regardless of holiday dates" – one of the journalists Mahach Gitinomagomedov noted.
Having worked in the streets, the media representatives took part in the presentation of the new bureau ща the republican weekly "Dagestanskaya Pravda" and visited the citadel "Naryn-Kala."
