People's Front for Russia to discuss Daghestan’s potential in import substitution

Makhachkala, October 1, 2014. The People's Front for Russia’s working group "Fair and efficient economy" was meeting yesterday at the conference hall of the Daghestan Ministry of National Policy, the press service of the PFR’s Daghestan office told RIA "Dagestan".

They met to discuss preparations for public hearings on import substitution and technological modernization of Russia in the context of sanctions and Daghestan enterprises’ possible contribution in the process.

The hearings scheduled for October 9 are to be attended by leaders of economic executive authorities of Daghestan, scientific experts, directors of Daghestan’s largest industrial enterprises. The event aims at identifying what Daghestani enterprises can do to solve problems of import substitution to provide an economic ‘breakthrough’ hand in hand with other economic enterprises of the country.

In the follow-up of the public hearings, the PFR’s Daghestan office will prepare a list of local high-tech projects to be recommended for participating in the platform "Import substitution and technological modernization". The event will be part of the second "Action Forum", which is on the PFR’s initiative scheduled to run in Moscow in November with participation of the front’s leader – Vladimir Putin.
