New training center for underwater special forces opens in Dagestan

Makhachkala, October 19, 2019. The combat swimmers of the Caspian Flotilla conducted the first underwater firing in the new training complex. At the same time, 18 divers participated in the exercises. They practiced exercises to capture and destroy the underwater enemy in the pool.

The area of the training center totals to 2,200 square meters. The base is designed to train 90 people at a time. The main element of the center is a pool with a screen for underwater shooting. It is an all-metal bowl about 10 meters deep. In it, one can create any conditions that mimic the Caspian Sea both in winter and in summer. At the bottom one can place models of the hulls of ships - to work out mine clearance and mining of ships.

Besides, the military medical and special training classes are opened. The divers are trained in the RBC-1600 baro complex, which can simultaneously accept up to six people. Prior to this, the mobile pressure chambers were used, where only one diver trained.
