Makhachkala, April 3, 2018. The installation of the exact copy of Ilyushin-2 assault plane used by the pilot, the Hero of the Soviet Union Yusup Akayev has started in the Historical Park "Russia is My History" in Makhachkala, the press service of the agency informs.

According to the source, the installation will be finished in three days till April 6. For this purpose, the specialists from Ufa and Moscow were invited. Currently, the museum-exhibition complex is closed for the visitors. The copy of the Il-2 had been already delivered to the museum. The object, as indicated earlier, will be installed in the foyer of the Historical Park. Recall, the real Yusup Akayev’s Il-2 is also located in Dagestan.

Its skeleton was raised from the bottom of the Black Sea about 5 years ago and brought to the homeland of the hero in Buinaksky municipal district last year.
