Makhachkala, December 1, 2017. The activists of the EcoLife public movement have organized the construction of a large modern center to help homeless cats and dogs.
The start of construction has been announced by the chairman of the non-profit public organization "Ekolayf" Victoria Shevtsova.

The project for the construction of the center is realized thanks to private donations and is estimated at 15 million rubles.

The construction of the center had already begun. It is located 15 kilometers from Makhachkala near the village of Tangi on an area of more than 1.5 thousand square meters.

The center will focus not only on the placement of animals, but also on the provision of qualified veterinary care. At the same time, 100 cats and dogs can be accommodated here. The construction of the facility is planned to be completed before the end of 2019.

Nowadays, a small shelter for homeless animals operates in Makhachkala. It was built in 2017 after a resonant case with the attack of dogs on the girl. However, the number of neglected animals does not reduce. There are approx. 7 thousand of them in Makhachkala and its suburbs, experts say.

The opening of the center will help to solve the problem with homeless animals, activists of EcoLife believe. Fundraising for the construction of the center is in progress.
