Dagestani Head to attend VII Festival of Culture and Sports of Caucasian peoples

Makhachkala, September 23, 2016. Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov will attend the opening ceremony of the VII Festival of Culture and Sports of the Caucasian peoples, to be held September 24 in the capital of Ingushetia - Nazran, the press service of Dagestani Head and Government Administration reports.

The festival is held since 2010. Every year, 7 teams - more than 700 participants in 12 national sports (arm sport, relay race 4x200 m, belt wrestling, walking on stilts, archery, hopping biathlon, climbing rope, power lifting, weight lifting, carrying the severity of the distance, mini football, rope pulling and so on) participate in the event.

Besides, the visitors of the Festival may take part in the concerts, round tables, panel discussions related to the sport development and the preservation of the culture and traditions of the Caucasian peoples.

"Caucasian Games" had already been held in several subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District: the Chechen Republic, Stavropol Territory, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia. As informed, the delegation consisting of 142 members will represent Dagestan in the festival.
