Dagestan launches online project "Ethnic Alphabet"

Makhachkala, November 10, 2018. The project will be available in the form of an application for the smartphones. The international application for the study of native languages has been developed in the Caucasus. The residents of Dagestan can be among the first to participate in the project and to download the application "Ethnic alphabet."

“This is an alphabet for children in the six national languages of Dagestan: Avar, Agul, Dargin, Kumyk, Lak and Lezgin” - the Ethnic Alphabet developers specify. They also explaine that the program will also provide access to five more languages of the Northern Caucasus - Ingush, Kabardino-Circassian, Karachay-Balkarian, Ossetian and Chechen.

The developers plan to involve children aged 9-12 to participating in the project. However, the Ethnic Alphabet generated interest among the adults in the Republic of Dagestan.
