Makhachkala, September 29, 2019. The purchase of equipment will be carried out within the framework of the federal target project “Fight against cancer”. According to the press service of the Ministry for Public Health of the Republic of Dagestan, in 2019 more than 300 million rubles were allocated for the purchase of equipment for the Republican Oncology Center.

The funds will be used to purchase video endoscopic equipment for minimally invasive surgical interventions, anesthesia equipment, modern operating tables, new ultrasound machines of the expert class. By the end of the year more than 70 units of equipment will be purchased.

The project “Fight against oncological diseases” is included into the national project “Healthcare” and is financed from the federal budget. According to the Public Health Ministry, over 10 years, the incidence of neoplasms has increased in the republic by 16.8%, and mortality - by 4.7%. So far, one oncology center with 200 beds is operating in the republic. The construction of a clinic at the oncology center for 200 visits per shift with a hospital with 40 beds is ongoing.
