Makhachkala, June 27, 2018. This year’s first meeting of the Public Council has gathered in the Agency for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Dagestan. The Agency Head Zaur Kakhrimanov, the chairman of the council, the professor of Dagestan Scientific Center RAS Murtazali Gajiyev, the chairman of Dagestan organization "Assembly of Civil Society Development" Magomed Ibraghimov, the public figure Bagaudin Gajiyev, the director of the Republican Center for the Preservation of Monuments, History, Culture and Architecture Ruslan Gajiyev took part in the event.

The meeting participants considered problems related to the preservation of cultural heritage sites. "Our Office is preparing questions for the extended seminar-meeting with participation of all municipalities of the republic, which will be held in September. The event will highlight the existing problems associated with the preservation of cultural heritage and the current legislation in the field of cultural heritage protection" - Kakhrimanov noted.

Murtazali Gajiyev, in turn, pointed out that he had long raised the need for individual inspectors on preservation of cultural heritage in the municipalities rich in cultural monuments. During the discussion it was decided to publish a high-quality book on the objects of cultural heritage to popularize and elevate the status of the issue in Dagestan.

One of the issues discussed concerned the current state of the historical and cultural center in the settlement of Kubachi and the adoption of emergency and rescue measures to preserve the historical mosque of the village.

"Two or three objects in the historical part of the village of Kubachi are collapsing each year. I talked to many owners of houses in the old part of the village. They are ready to leave their homes to transform them into a museum-preserve for the coming generations. The village administration is pleased to meet this idea. The public group in Kubachi is working to create a museum-reserve. They are mapping the gps-coordinates of cultural heritage sites, especially those included into the Unified State Register of the Cultural Heritage Objects. Their destruction causes great concern" - the head of the Public Council under the Agency Murtazali Gajiyev said.

Besides, the meeting participants paid special attention to the international scientific conference on archeology "Krupnovsky readings" scheduled to be held in Dagestan in 2020.
