Makhachkala, February 14, 2018. In total, 2.300 documents are being prepared for inclusion into the electronic catalog. Dagestan scientists are busy digitizing unique ancient manuscripts in various Eastern languages, the representative of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences Shamil Shikhaliyev said at the international readings in Tatarstan.

About 700 manuscripts had already been included into the electronic database, being digitized, numbered and stored on the server of the scientific institution. The spread of dates is impressive - the documents cover a period of thousand years and almost all the subjects of the Arab world and science. They are written in both Arabic and Persian.

In total, 3000 such manuscripts should be added to the catalog. Then all of them will be posted on a specially created website with a free access.

The first international readings "The Theological Heritage of Muslims of Russia" are held, these days, in the city of Bolgar in Tatarstan. The event gathered both the leading experts of Russia and the visitors from abroad who represent both religious and secular educational institutions.
