Dagestani wheelchair athletes gain medals at Russian Championship

Makhachkala, July 4, 2016. Dagestani athletes with lesions of the musculoskeletal system became the winners of the Russian Championship in Athletics. The sport event took place on June 28 - July 3 in Cheboksary, the athletes’ coach Khaybula Dzhavatkhanov says.

According to Khaybula Dzhavatkhanov, Dagestan sportsmen won prizes in throwing disciplines only. Denis Pankiewicz obtained a gold medal in the discus throwing. Azolhon Makhmudov won two bronze medals in the disc and javelin throwing. In total, 8 athletes represented Dagestan in the competitions.
