Makhachkala, February 15, 2016. On Friday, February 12, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, during his working visit to Moscow, met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, Uri Ariel and the deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin.

The event, held in the business-breakfast format, took place in the conference room "Bahrushin" in the hotel "Mersire". The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between the two countries related to the development of agricultural sector and the current joint projects. The theme of the event was formulated as "Innovations in agribusiness. Israel - Russia - synergy, as the path to success".
The sitting brought together the heads of regional specialized departments. In particular, Dagestan was represented by Dagestani minister of agriculture and food Musafendi Velimuradov.
In his speech, Ramazan Abdulatipov stressed the importance of organized the event, recalling that Russia had constructive bilateral relations with Israel.

"The agriculture has to become a very important link in the development of our relations. I think that the cooperation goes in the right direction, but there are no synergies. For example, Dagestan produces 10% of all Russian vegetables, 20% of Russian mutton. This suggests that our republic is agrarian. At the same time, we don’t’ need only equipment and modern technologies, but also we should work together to establish joint enterprises in the future. In this difficult time, we need to attract investment in agro industrial complex."- Abdulatipov noted.

Besides, Ramazan Abdulatipov invited to visit Dagestan the Israeli delegation, as well as the agricultural businesspersons.

"We have many opportunities for cooperation. At the same time, we need to go this way and  to distribute the responsibilities and liabilities. We create favorable conditions for you; I take personal control of business security in Dagestan. We need to discuss in detail the specific issues and to start working directly in the republic of Dagestan. Once again, thank you very much,”- Dagestani Head resumed.

In his turn, Uri Ariel added:  "Your statement has already brought us to the specific actions. You see, that such meetings are very fruitful. We are ready to assist in the development of these relations".

In conclusion, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, Uri Ariel noted with satisfaction that after 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the cooperation between the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was entering a qualitatively new level.

"Today, I am to consider a number of issues that could give impetus to further development of our relations, including in agriculture. We are talking about the transfer of Israeli experience in the field of agricultural technologies, increasing trade, and the most importantly - creating a center of Israeli agricultural technologies on the territory of Moscow. We hope that the business relationships between Israeli and Russian companies will continue to develop, "- Uri Ariel resumed.
