On November 17, Dagestani Head Sergei Melikov took part in the plenary session of the Russian-Azerbaijani interregional Forum in Baku as a member of the Russian government delegation headed by the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The agenda included issues related to the cooperation in economic, transport, agro-industrial, humanitarian and other areas. One of the key topics is the project on development of yacht and cruise tourism in the Caspian Sea.

"For our part, we nowadays pay special attention to the development of tourism in the Northern Caucasus. And here we have a point of growth – the creation of Caspian coastal cluster in Dagestan. Taking into account a long way, which the Republic of Azerbaijan passed, we can form joint projects on development of cruise, yacht tourism on the Caspian Sea. It is a unique opportunity which we should use", - the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maksim Reshetnikov said.

It was also noticed that Azerbaijan is traditionally the main trade partner of Dagestan making annually not less than 30% of foreign trade turnover of the region.
