Abdulatipov meets with representatives of business circles of France

Makhachkala, December 16, 2015. On December 15, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, being on working trip to Paris, met with the representatives of business circles of France. The association “Franco-Russian dialogue” on the Champs Elysees initiated the official event.

Thierry Mariani, the former Transport Minister of France, the deputy of the National Assembly, representing the French abroad, opened the sitting. Having welcomed the guests, Mariani thanked the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to UNESCO in Paris Eleanora Mitrofanova for supporting the Days of Dagestan Culture and Derbent in the capital of France.

"I welcome you on behalf of the Association “Franco-Russian dialogue” and I hope that our meeting will serve the citizens of France to learn more about Dagestan", - Thierry Mariani noted.

The participants of the event such as the senators, deputies, ambassadors, the representatives of big companies were presented to Dagestani delegation. Having viewed the video presentation about Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov gave a speech to the audience. Abdulatipov particularly underlined the fact that Dagestan joined the Russian Federation more than 200 years ago.  

“This year we have celebrated the 2000th anniversary of founding the city of Derbent and the 5000 anniversary of Derbent settlement. It means that Dagestan is one of regions of the ancient civilization, uniting many cultures and traditions, nationalities, but where one people live - Dagestanis, as part of the Russian people,” - Ramazan Abdulatipov said.

"The French don't really know much about Dagestan, but I want to announce that we have created the most favorable conditions for development and investments. For three years, we have reached the top five in the Russian Federation in terms of industrial and economic development. Recently, the President of the Russian Federation initiated a special program on the development of Dagestan until 2025. We are creating all conditions for investors, protecting them; I give my mobile phone number to every investor coming to the republic, to solve all the difficulties, "- Ramazan Abdulatipov stated.

In conclusion, Dagestani Head thanked the representatives of the business communities of France for their attention to Dagestan and invited them to UNESCO Headquarters on the festive performance dedicated to the 2000th anniversary of the founding of Derbent.

The meeting brought together the former French ambassador to Russia Claude Blanchemaison, the Trade Representative of Russia in France Alexander Turov, the general representative of "Russian Railways" JSC in France Arkady Dyakonov, a former France’s ambassador for agriculture to Russia, Maurice Rossen, businessmen, known lawyers, representatives of investment funds, the Chamber of Commerce in France.

Dagestan was represented by the 1st deputy Prime Minister RD Anatoly Karibov, the head of press service and information department of Daghestani Head and the Government RD Tamara Chinennaya, Dagestan minister of culture Zarema Butaeva, Dagestan minister of industry, trade and investment Yusup Umavov, the mayor of Derbent Malik Bagliev.
